Facebook - Reason Why They Dominate and Others Failed!!

Other Aspects Are Also Going to Play Major Role.

Facebook has recently crossed 700 million users mark and it is growing by day. There seems to be no end as of now for such remarkable growth for Zuckerburg's company. Facebook has grown tremendously over the years and terms friend-unfriend have gone on to be so casual that people are using it in their normal life as well.

Well leave the Facebook terms aside for now, only thing I started this post with mention of Facebook is because they have got competition in the name of Google+. Google+ has received warm welcome by users and people are OK with trying it. Not to forget that they are still in close beta (or whatever) it is. So we can say Google+ at least has managed to start on good note which many other social networking sites even failed to achieve.

Facbook Is Like Any Other Social Network But Then Why It Got So Popular?

Growth of Facebook and failure of other social networking sites have one common thread between them. These social sites are no more mere Tom, Dick and Harry's hangout places. It has gone on to be more commercialized and business centric platform. What Facebook managed to do in remarkable fashion was the way they attracted Corporate sector under their hood. Each and every major corporate house is having their official Facebook Page where they commute with their users and spread news about their activities with the world, not just in their local habitat. This FREE publicity was major factor for growth of many enterprises as well as Facebook. Telecasting ads on TVs, radios puts constraints on you regarding the coverage but once you go on Facebook, you go GLOBAL. Post an update about your product and you will get likes, comments etc. from users all over the world. Every major Band, Artist and also budding entrepreneurs have been benefited by this.

Also Facebook has managed the ad integration on its site very well, its hosted ads do not annoy you, it doesn't keep flashing and distract you from your main activity i.e. social networking and yet those ads grab your attention.

These two things have been pivotal in Facebook's success and failures of others, Facebook understood the importance of User Satisfaction as well as business side of the social networking which led to downfall of other sites and undisputed dominance by Palo Alto based giants.

You got to keep the perfect balance between these to things if you wish to succeed in this highly competitive and cut throat competition.

Will Google+ manage to do it? Only time will tell but considering the emergence of reports stating that Google has advised to businesses that they should wait a bit longer to get themselves integrated with Google+, suggests that Google+ is taking this part seriously as well.

Meanwhile I will keep using both Google+ and Facebook as well. What about you?
